This is a 45 - 50 minute powerboat trip allows participants to see Bristol Harbour from the water on a relaxing cruise trip. It is a wheelchair accessible boat. Young children can come onboard as long as they fit in our buoyancy aids. Any minors would count as a participant (even if sitting on your knee), please book them on. Please notify us if you are a wheelchair user.

This is 1 hour rowing taster session allowing participants to try fixed-seat rowing in a hand-made skiff/gig within our historic harbour. You go up in a boat coxed by an instructor who will show you the basics on how to row. This is perfect if you are interested in a Learn to Row course. The minimum age for this is 12 years old.

AAW Fundraiser - Anna Special Fund - Sailing

This is a 1 hour taster sailing  experience. 

You will sail in a learner friendly boat called 'Access boats' (takes 2 people), which is also accessible for people with disabilities. It seats two people. There will be a safety boat with an instructor to give you tips and support trip up Bristol Harbour with the support of an instructor.  If you need hoisting into the boat please let us know ahead of the date by emailing admin@allaboardwatersports.co.uk. Young children can be passengers in safe weather conditions, if they are accompanied by an adult and can fit into our buoyancy aids. Please do contact us if you have any questions.

Boat Building Project Age UK

Project to build a Weymiss skiff rowing boat. This project will be managed by a skilled boat builder with all tools and safety equipment supplied.

You can only attend this course if it was offered to you by Age UK. By booking onto this course you are booking onto a 26 week course starting on 17th April then every Monday until the 9th October 2023. You may not be able to attend every week but you will gain the most the more you attend.

British Rowing Session Coach will train you to plan, deliver and review stand-alone rowing sessions. It will also always you to work as a large team and follow as previously designed programme. This course will be delivered in fixed seat rowing boats.

Ever heard of Cornish Gig Rowing? Well why not come and give it a go!

 

Unlike rowing you see in the Olympics, Cornish gig rowing uses a six oared rowing boat, which means the boats are much more stable which makes it a perfect relaxed and sociable team sport. With an opportunity to become part of a thriving community of Cornish Gig Rowers in the Southwest, this session gives you a taster of a very addictive sport!

 

All of our sessions are led by friendly, experienced instructors who will show you the ropes, keep you safe and make sure you have a great time. All abilities are welcome, from the very first timers to those who love being out on the water.

Learn to Row Level 1 (Funded)

 

This welcoming and inclusive Level 1 Gig Rowing course is aimed at complete beginners and requires no experience at all, teaching you all you need to know to get rowing out in Bristol’s beautiful Harbour.

 

You will:

  • Learn about safety, both on and off the water.
  • Be able to identify boats and equipment that you will be using.
  • Know what clothing to wear.
  • Learn the correct rowing technique.

 

You will be taught by qualified and experienced rowing coaches who will help you develop the skills you need to row safely and well on a skiff or gig.

 

You will be working together in a crew, so it’s a great way to meet some new people. Why not persuade some friends, family or work colleagues to come along too – you could form a crew of your own!

This two-day course provides the skills required when acting as an escort craft, safety boat or coach boat for a fleet of dinghies, windsurfers or canoes, or for racing or training activities. TIF RYA Adult Level 1

The RYA Adult Level 1 Course here at All-Aboard, will introduce you to sailing and teach you all that you need to know to get afloat, whilst still under supervision.

 

Forming the first stage of the RYA beginners’ scheme, this is part of a series of two-day courses that enable you to progress quickly from beginner to expert in a controlled, safe and enjoyable environment.

 

The course covers how to sail in all directions, including an awareness of launching and recovering. After the course, you will be able to sail in light winds, whilst still under supervision.

 

  • Course 1: 12th & 13th March 2022 (plus 27th March as allocated third date in case of weather cancellation) – 09:30 – 16:30

 

  • Course 2: 7th & 8th May 2022 (plus 14th May as allocated third date in case of weather cancellation) – 09:30 – 16:30

 

PLEASE NOTE
This is a two-day course however each course has an allocated third date which will be used in circumstances where a session is cancelled due to unfavourable weather conditions. TIF RYA Adult Level 2

 

The RYA Adult Level 2 Course here at All-Aboard, will set out the foundations of sailing for you.

 

Forming the middle stage of the RYA beginners’ scheme, this is part of a series of two-day courses that enable you to progress quickly from beginner to expert in a controlled, safe and enjoyable environment.

 

The course covers rigging, launching, and sailing in all directions. It also covers capsize recovery as well as essential safety knowledge. After the course, you will be able to sail and make your own decisions in good conditions.

 

You must have completed the RYA Level 1 in order to undertake this Level 2 course.

 

  • Course 1: 4th & 5th June 2022 (plus 11th June as allocated third date in case of weather cancellation) – 09:30 – 16:30

 

  • Course 2: 2nd July & 3rd July 2022 (plus 17th July as allocated third date in case of weather cancellation) – 09:30 – 16:30

Youth VI Friendly Rowing After-School Club

This session is funded by 'Love Rowing' and is designed to support young people (11-18yrs) with Visual Impairments (VI) to learn to Row in a fun, safe and friendly environment.

 

Our after-school club just costs £12 per participant. The rowing boat will have a instructor/cox and there will be room for 2 participants and two sighted volunteers. The ratio of participants: volunteer ratio can increase as participants skills develop.
